Double MD Deck - MDS-W1

MD Deck - MDS-JA22ES

With the SONY MDS-W1, it is possible to record in one slot and edit another MD in the other slot. Tracks can be transferred between the two MDs. With improved algorithm, the MDS-JA22ES is equipped with ATRAC that is enhanced with the new "Type-R" DSP, which will produce even more accurate recordings. There are five new MD decks including the ES-Series MDS-JA22ES and the MDS-W1. Some of the MD Decks can be connected to a PC with the PC kit PCLK-MD1 and it is possible to name the MD, name the tracks, and edit the MD through the computer.

The MDS-W1 has two MD decks built in one, both decks are capable of playing and recording. Each deck can record from separate sources simultaneously. One MD can record from one source and a second MD can be edited at the same time. There is also the MOVE function between the two MDs. Now you can choose the music you want to, even with MDs. This is a MOVE function! Not Copy! The track that was on the original MD is deleted!
Furthermore, there is a digital recording level control to give you the proper recording level for your digital recordings.
The MDS-JA22ES is equipped with a new algorithm Type-R DSP to aid ATRAC. With the unique and improved algorithm, the music data is analyzed and processed to achieve even more accurate recordings than ever before.
Electromagnetic interference and vibration are minimized by R-core transformers and this maintains a more accurate audio signal. This feature is only one of the many advanced features that are equipped on our ES-series.
The MDS-JB920 has some of the features of a high-end deck, such as the R- core transformers, front aluminum panel, and digital recording level control. This deck stresses on high quality sound.
The MDS-JB520 has a digital recording level control, optical line in/out, and a sampling rate converter. This deck offers the standard features that takes care of everyday MD functions.
The MDS-39 is for our mini-stereo system measuring only 280mm along the side. This compact MD deck is ideal for upgrading your mini-stereo system.
The MD-PC Connection Kit PCLK-MD1 is a software with the MD Editor and a cable to connect your MD deck to the PC. This software is used in conjunction with the MDS-JA22ES, MDS-JB920, and the MDS-39. The software allows you to record, edit, name the MD, name the tracks (in kanji/hiragana/katakana, alphabet, and numbers), and control your deck though the PC. Display on the MD deck only shows alphabet, numbers, and katakana.

In Japan 1997, 40% of MD sales were from portable units, 50% comes from decks and audio systems with MD decks, and the remaining 10% comes from the MD car audio. More households have access to an MD unit that can record and edit, more outdoor use of MDs, and MD car audio result in a higher demand. Special Features

MDS-W1

1. Double MD Recorder
Each deck can record from separate sources simultaneously. One MD can record from one source and a second MD can be edited at the same time. There is also the MOVE function between the two MDs. Now you can choose the music you want to, even with MDs.
This is a MOVE function! Not Copy! The track that was on the original MD is deleted!

2. Full Dot Display
140 x 40 dot display in the front. Complicated editing features are graphically shown to help you understand and verify your action with the deck(s).

3. Digital Recording Level Control
The recording level can be adjusted within a range of -8 dB ?? to +12dB. This is ideal for CD which does not have the best sound level, or CS/BS (digital broadcasting in Japan) that have weak signals. The recording level can make it so the recording is audible. The deck is able to remember the ideal recording level that you set at.

4. Wide-Bit-Stream
Recording and playback is truer with wide-bit-stream. Input / output are 24bit with playing and recording is at 20bit.

5. Sampling Rate Converter, Optical in / out, Line in / out
This 18bit sampling rate converter automatically converts sampling rates between 32kHz / 48kHz to 44.1kHz. Digital recording is possible with CD players, digital broadcasts, or DAT. Optical line / out and line in / out allow you to attach up to three optical devices. Two TOSlink input, one TOSlink output, and the standard line in /out

6. Internal Timer and AC Outlet, for unsupervised recording
On this unit, a timer and an AC outlet is installed to make unsupervised recording possible. This is especially effective with a tuner to record your favorite radio program, but can be there to listen.

MDS-JA22ES

1. Newly developed algorithm to improve ATRAC Type-R DSP
The MDS-JA22ES is equipped with a new algorithm Type-R DSP to aid ATRAC. Sound quality is twice as good as before. With the unique and improved algorithm, the music data is analyzed and processed to achieve even more accurate recordings than ever before.

2. Our advanced features found in our ES-Series
Electromagnetic interference and vibration are minimized by R-core transformers and this maintains a more accurate audio signal. In addition, a disc-loading tray stabilizes the MD more. These kinds of features are found in our ES- Series.

PCLK-MD1

1. Control your MD Deck with your PC
With our software, MD manipulation is done through GUI (graphical user interface) to simplify the same MD functions with a mouse and a keyboard.

2. Kanji / Hiragana Input
Along with alphanumeric input and katakana, Kanji (JIS First / Second Edition) � hiragana input is possible. Difficult kanji is easily created, just like any standard Japanese word processor. Alphanumeric and katakana are recorded on sector1, and kanji and hiragana is stored on sector4. Sector4 is read to display kanji and hiragana on the PC monitor.
The interactive remote control system RM-IA9K (for DHC-MD919/MD717) can be used on the new decks to enter alphanumeric and katakana.

3. Recording and Editing from your CD player, all through your PC
With our CD players CDP-CX200F and CDP-CE515, drag and drop is possible.
To fully take advantage of this feature, the RK-G69 cable and digital cable POC-15A is required.
