SJ-MJ7

Panasonic claim the "world's smallest" MD player. 72.9 x 81.2 mm and only 16.9 thick. Excellent backlit LCD remote that clips on your shirt pocket so that you can read the screen by just moving your head. And squinting. No LCD on unit, just a little window so that you can see if there is a disk inside. Nickel Hydride "chewing gum" rechargeable battery. 1200mAh. The Sony chewing gum batteries (NH9WM 1200mAh, NH14WM 1400mAh) and the Sony BC7HT 100-240V battery charger complement this nicely.

Silver or silver. The front of the case is a very special finish - shiny but doesn't show fingermarks. Apparently a right sod to make as well - hence the recent production difficulties.

Other features: 20-20,000Hz +0db to -6dB, Output 10mW per channel.

List Price JPY38,000.
